Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday visits are by appointment only. If you prefer a set time, book online and we will be ready for you.
What identification do I need?
Bring one valid, original government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s licence, passport or Ontario Photo Card. For affidavits, an ID that shows your current address is best. Expired ID and photocopies cannot be accepted.
How much does notarization cost?
Notarization starts at $30 per document, and we offer a discount when you bring several documents in one visit. Drafting is available for affidavits, declarations and invitation letters; the fee depends on the document, so ask us and we will quote before starting. See the /pricing/ page.
Should I sign my document before I arrive?
No. Affidavits and statutory declarations must be signed in front of the notary. If you have already signed, we will ask you to sign a fresh copy.
Are you really lawyers?
Yes. Notarizations at Notary Point are performed by lawyers licensed by the Law Society of Ontario who hold notary public appointments and act as commissioners for taking affidavits.
